It's not very easy for us to say this, but our little man Crosby has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at the beginning of the year. It's taken a hard toll on all of us and after 6 months we still feel the pain of missing Crosby.

Thanks to everyone who gave us comfort and friendship.

Hey everyone!

This is your pal Crosby, I'm thinking that summer is almost here! We had an ice storm come through a few weeks ago and thank goodness we never lost power. That would have been BAD.

We made it through the bad weather, but some people didn't have power for over 2 weeks! Plus some people didn't have any water. I would just die if we didn't have something to drink.

But summer is coming and I just can't wait! Warm weather is almost here!!!!

We took a short vacation and went to Barkley Lake in Kentucky and spent 4 days at the camp.

We had a great time even during the wind storm that blew down some trees not to far from us.
Mom & Dad didn't seem upset about it, so neither were we. We got to go for a few car rides to Cadiz and a drive to the lake. We didn't go to the water because Mom & Dad wanted us to get use to being at the lake first. We did really good off leash so the next time we go it's the water for us!!!

Lizzie got around real good and Chodon helped her to find her way a few times. Mia on the other hand wanted to go home an hour after we got here. Kari was really good, like always. And of course I was chasing frogs that came out at night. I could just see them but they always got away!!!

It was a very relaxing vacation for all of us but there is nothing like home sweet home.

On the way back Chodon and I shared the front seat of the Montero sport, which by the way is just a little bit to small for 2 dogs but neither one of us wanted to get in the back of the car!! A few miles from home Kari jumped up front with us!!!! Man was it tight! We made it home and all is good with the world.

Mom took off last week-in for a retreat and left us here with Dad!
It was some kind of meditation thing she had going on and get this, she couldn't talk the hole time she was there!!!! But we had a ton of fun with dad being around all week-in and taking care of us.

It's about time! The weather has been really hot around here and today is NICE!
I can't wait for mom to come home for lunch so I can spend some time out in the yard.

We might go on a walk tonight, I can't wait for that

Dad called in sick today. He is really sick so it's my job to give him lots of loving! Right now I am sleeping on his pillow. I want to keep it warm so he can sleep and get better.

It's hot outside so I think we will stay in most of the day, except for pee breaks.

Mom and Dad are both feeling under the weather today so we just hung out and watched TV today. Later on in the afternoon, dad took me for a ride to the gas station and then we drove around for awhile and came home. I sure needed it! I just wanted to get out of the house for a few. I feel better now, and mom fed us some raw for dinner. It turned out to be the perfect day for me. Crosby

I never knew food could taste that good. I've eaten so many new foods since I've been here I might live forever!!! They say if you eat a new food that you have never tried before, you will live 75 days longer. So drop those burgers and eat something new.

First off, you will have to forget everything you have learned about the Shar Pei and history. I hate to break the news to you, but the Shar Pei was living in China 1,000 years before people showed up and messed everything up. They didn't breed us to become guard, herding or fighting dogs, we choose the positions to maintain the peace. A few years ago the Chinese broke the 6,000 year old peace treaty and almost killed us off.

My great great grandmother told me this story when I was just a pup.

Along time ago when the humans took over our great land there was one human name Zen Wa Lee who had befriended the King of the Shar Pei, Lu Ti. The two of them together had built a country of great peace and beauty. The days past into years until one day a greedy man by the name of Chin Wa killed Lu Ti and blamed it on Zen Wa Lee. The Shar Pei became very angry with the humans and that is when the so called "Pei Wars" broke out. It lasted one thousand years and the Shar Pei and humans alike lost their lives because of one greedy human.

Hi Everyone!
I want to report my progress so far. I am so happy being here with the Duke Family that I can't explain it in words. But I know that they loved me even when I didn't have much hair.
I've had some days that I don't feel very good, and on the days I feel great I love to play with my man Crosby. He is such a doll! He's mine girls, so get back!

They feed really good food here plus we get a few bites from mom during her dinner. Dad for some reason let's Crosby do the dishes. He tells everyone "The dishes are as clean as Crosby can get them" he's so silly. I see mom putting dishes in the dishwasher all the time.

Man, is it hot or what? The other day I seen Crosby walking on the sun!!!!!

That's right! I'm the Black Beauty that all of you have fallen in love with. I hate tooting my own horn but it's true. I'm kind of laid back and meditate a lot. Most people think that I'm just lazy but that's not so. I love my mom, because she's the one that rescued me. I really miss her when she's gone. But I love seeing her when she comes home!!! I swing my tail so hard I can't even stand up straight.

It's little ole me, Princess Mia,

It was hot again today so we stayed inside most of the day. I slept most of the time and took some breaks by waking up and walking around the house to make sure everyone was still here.
Mom got a wild hair and cleaned out my ears. She said something had fallen in and died! My ears are all clean now and I can hear too. Plus mom did my nails but didn't polish them up like she had done before with pink polish, I loved it.
